Getting Ready To Launch!

Ok let me take this from the top. I'm a handweaver, an artist with yarn and thread, I love to create cloth and create items which in turn I hope will be treasures to pass down. For a little background information I started weaving back in 1989 on a rather primitive 2 shaft counter-balance loom that I made by hand. It lasted for quite a while until our house got flooded and the wood in the lower half of the loom split from the water. I was rather sad about this but tried not to dwell on it too much as there was a lot going on in our personal life. As it was good fortune smiled on us and blessed us in 1991 with an inheritance that got us out of our shotgun house in Resaca and under a proper roof. Along about the same time I got a back pay from the Veteran's Administration which left us solvent. One thing I did was scout about for either wood to build another loom or a loom I could buy. Luck again would win out for us as I found a lead to a Leclerc Nilus loom in Atlanta. We went down on a weekend and bought that baby and brought it home. I wove on that loom until earlier this month when I decided to sell it and buy an upgrade that I found in a Harrisville Designs 8 shaft loom, 4 more shaft than on the Nilus! Well the Harrisville Designs loom is now set up in my back room where we are getting ready to paint. Yeah I know that sounds kind of ass backwards but it works for me. I just need to make a couple of adjustments and add some new heddles and I'll be rocking and rolling on the new loom. That being said I have some fabric patterns picked out already to weave. My first project will be a wallhanging done in a nice cotton warp with a Superwash Merino wool weft. I think it will be beautiful but then I'm prejudiced about my own work. Following that I will have enough warp to weave out some yardage to make woven masks to sell for the duration of time we are under the Coronavirus watch. I've already got my shop set up at Etsy.com, all I need to do is populate it with item for sale. That is my next goal, so yes right now I am in launch mode, something like NASA saying T minus 60 and counting. More coming soon so that you for reading, take care and God bless us all.
